Not what I would have imagined from a Sofitel...

Beach location and pool were fantastic, and really make this resort worth staying at (although there are many more just next to it)!

As with a mass market tourist beach resort, there were many broken things, drinks were not strong, and the hotel staff always seemed overwhelmed. Furthermore it was difficult to change rooms, there are not many rooms with balconies overlooking the ocean, and the food was not spectacular. This is not how I would have imagined a hotel with the Sofitel name however this is what it is.

Good housekeeping, comfortable bed, good wifi. Excellent location.

Poor shower, patchy service at busy times, buffet food in restaurant was sometimes not hot. Room starting to tire.

The reception area is amazing! Azadeen who works in the buffet restaurant is an asset to the hotel! He always looked after us!

Could get a better understanding of the hotel like someone who shows you were everything is clearly and not just point as it’s big. Also excursions are a rip off at this hotel! The bathroom wasn’t clean at all! That’s not the staffs fault but there’s mould and the toilet has marks! not what I expect of a 5 start hotel!

The breakfast was very delicious in addition of the natural orange juice which was excellent. The swimming pool and beach space were very nice and the hotel staff was closely carting.

The payment has not been proceed via booking which put us in a very bad situation given that we did not have sufficient money, and no solution was provided. When it comes to the room the bathroom was old, the flush was working every other day, the hairdryer was broken, same thing for the door handle. Given that it's a 5 stars hôtel we were quite surprise to see that no coffee machine or kettle were available.

Nice hotel in Agadir location. Wealthy and diverse breakfast. The room was very clean and well equipped. Beautiful swimming pool and private beach place with sunset kit for free. The personal was very kind and helpful, especially in days we felt very sick. The beach was clean and sandy.

The place was special for foggy weather - till 12pm we had fog and no sun. The temperature was very different during day and night. Because of the weather - the hotel smell little stuffy and some of the decoration seems to be quite sticky. they had three restaurants with very high prices according the Morocco standards. Far away from the city center.

Slightly overpriced but overall decent stay.

Really big pool area with nice day beds. Also a nice lounge area when you first walk in to the hotel. The staff was nice and were able to check us in earlier than expected. Bed was comfy and shower was nice.

Hotel is definitely outdated and wish the AC worked better. Also, they never picked up our laundry (which was maybe a blessing in disguise because the laundry was extremely overpriced). Generally felt most amenities in the hotel were overpriced for Morocco but also for the quality of what you’re receiving.

Nice location and atmosphere but overpriced. The service and food doesn't reach the rating of a 4-st

The good points are mostly the impressive foyer as you enter the hotel, location of the hotel, including a private beach which is very accessible.

The check-in and check-out is too long. This was our third stay and each time, we had to wait ages to check in and the same checking out. The main problem is that we were charged a 'Tourist Tax' that was not explained by Booking.com or the hotel in advance to our stay. This type of tax is not charged in Europe or Canada, so it was a nasty surprise. In comparison with the Radisson or other hotels of the same rating, Sofitel Royal Bay Agadir is over-priced, and the service and food are not at the same level of a four-star hotel, in my 10-year experience.
